Gavin A. Corn is an Associate General Counsel and Director the Cyber Security Law Team at Facebook.  Corn previously led Facebook’s Law Enforcement Outreach Team globally. Previously he spent over 20 years in government service, first clerking for a federal district court judge in the Southern District of Florida, and later as an Honors Graduate attorney in the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice.  While with the Department of Justice, Corn served as a prosecutor in the Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section, the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section, and most recently the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section. Corn also served on long term assignments as a Special Assistant United States Attorney at many United States Attorney’s Offices around the country, including the Eastern District of Virginia, the District of Arizona, the District of Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and the Southern District of California.  In 2004-2005, Corn served as the Department of Justice’s Resident Legal Advisor to the Southeastern European Cooperative Initiative Regional Center for Combating Transborder Crime (the SECI Center) and the South East European Legal Advisory Group (SEEPAG) in Bucharest, Romania. From 2006 – 2012, Corn was Chief Counsel and then Acting Director of the International Organized Crime Intelligence & Operations Center (IOC-2), a multi-agency intelligence and operational support organization that focuses on the most serious threats that transnational organized crime groups pose to the United States. Corn also worked in the Cyber Law Unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Corn graduated from Dickinson College in 1990, Magna Cum Laude, and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1994, Order of the Coif, and he clerked for United States District Court Judge Jose A. Gonzalez, Jr., from 1994-1996. He has served on the advisory board of Camp Kesem’s George Washington University Chapter (a summer camp that is free for children with a parent who is or has suffered from cancer). He also previously taught law as an adjunct professor at Georgetown, George Washington, Catholic, and American Universities.
