 Born in Turin in 1964, he graduated in Economics from the local University and later obtained a Master's Degree in Catholic Social Teaching and Ethics from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He worked in the field of development cooperation with a local NGO in Turin and then for three years at the Social Justice Secretariat of the General Curia of the Society of Jesus in Rome. 

Since 2001 he has been a member of the editorial staff of the monthly journal Aggiornamenti Sociali<>, run by Italian Jesuits, where he deals in particular with economic issues and Catholic Social Teaching. His main interests are the relationship between ethics, anthropology and economics, and the commitment to the promotion of justice. The articles published on these topics are available at <>. Since 2007, he has been also CFO of ProgettoPersona SCS (formerly A Piccoli Passi SCS), a non-profit organization providing services to people with disabilities and the elderly, and their families, in Milan.

In October 2018 he served as an expert (adiutor) in the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, dedicated to the theme "Young people, the faith, and vocational discernment."
